- Why did you choose Analysis Group?
- I was interested in exploring a diverse set of practice areas and tackling problems in a data-driven way.
- What do you work on at AG?
- I primarily work on litigation, with a focus on health care cases. More recently, I’ve worked on a couple of strategy and policy cases.
- What do you enjoy most about your work? What do you find most challenging?
- Getting to work with such interesting people in so many different offices has been the most enjoyable part about work. It’s fascinating to learn from people with diverse backgrounds and get new perspectives on how to tackle complex problems. When you work on similar cases over time, it is easy to get into a rhythm of how to approach them, so it’s exciting when an idea that you might not have thought about before gets introduced.
- What new skills have you learned since joining Analysis Group?
- I learned how to code in R, which is the language that I now use for the majority of my cases. Prior to Analysis Group, I only knew how to make simple charts and graphs in R, but through my casework, I find that I’m always learning something new.
- What new experiences have you had at AG?
- AG is my first job after college, so I’ve had many new experiences, including learning about a diverse set of practice areas, working with team members across various time zones, leading analyses, and training younger analysts.
- What is it like to work on a case team?
- It’s a really great environment where everyone is working together and supporting each other every step of the way. On my first case, I relied on the associate and manager a lot for guidance. As we have continued to work together, I get to help guide newer analysts, which has been an incredibly rewarding process.
- What is it like to work in your office? What is the culture there?
- The Menlo Park office is relatively small and has a very tight-knit culture. Everyone is friendly, laid-back, and always willing to lend a helping hand. The analysts are very social and love to hang out together, whether through a small happy hour after work or a trip to Santa Cruz!
- What do you do when you’re not working?
- I like to visit art museums and, when the weather permits, go snowboarding in Tahoe! On less adventurous weekends, I explore new brunch places in the Bay Area or stay in for some board games with friends.
