- Why did you choose Analysis Group?
- I joined AG right after graduating with a master’s degree in financial economics because I wanted to be continuously learning, to be intellectually challenged, and to solve real-life business issues using economic principles.
- What do you work on at Analysis Group?
- I work on a variety of cases in different practice areas including Antitrust & Competition, Commercial Disputes, Intellectual Property, and Securities, Financial Products & Institutions.
- What do you enjoy most about your work? What do you find most challenging?
- I mostly enjoy developing creative but principled solutions to solve complex business issues.
- Have you worked with any affiliates/experts? What was that experience like?
- I have worked with many experts. The experience is highly rewarding as you get to learn, interact, and support world-renowned industry and academic experts on current economic issues across many industries.
- What skills are vital to succeed at AG?
- Intellect, adaptability, and communication skills are highly important.
- What do you think of the case team dynamic? How does this benefit your work? Clients?
- On case teams you get to collaborate with extremely smart individuals. Such collaboration at AG is fostered by treating others as you’d like to be treated, regardless of rank or position. New hires are exposed to valuable experience early on, and clients can be assured that the best people with the right expertise and experience across the firm are working on their cases.
- What advice would you give to new staff joining AG?
- Ask questions, embrace new challenges, and be pragmatic.
- What is it like to work in your office? What is the culture there?
- The Montreal office is getting bigger in headcount but functions as a small office, which means colleagues know and enjoy each other, and there is a collegial atmosphere.
- What do you do when you’re not working?
- I spend time with my family, serve on business and community initiatives such as board memberships and mentorship, and enjoy reading, writing, and traveling.
- How do you find a suitable work/life balance?
- I strive to keep an open communication channel with my teams regarding availability, to plan tasks and workdays ahead of time if possible, and to remain flexible about changes.
